Dr. McKenzie combines her background in treating-the-whole-person primary care, clinical science, and the art of multidisciplinary healthcare to empower vital health. She is an evidence based holistic physician in private practice at and medical director of the Northwest Institute for Healthy Sexuality and Whole Life Medicine, which are sexual medicine and integrative medicine care centers of Washington Urology and Urogynecology.
Her practice has a philosophy that neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts alternative medicine uncritically.
Serena McKenzie, ND, IF, NCMP is an evidence-based holistic physician and sexual medicine specialist. She is Medical Director of Whole Life Medicine, PS and the Northwest Institute for Healthy Sexuality, specialty care centers of Washington Urology & Urogynecology, PLLC. She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2004, completed a Family Medicine residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, and has been working in healthcare for over 20 years in the field of sexuality.
Dr. McKenzie holds multiple certificates as a sexuality specialist including: sexual medicine fellow (IF) through the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), she is a nationally certified menopause specialist (NCMP) through North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and also is a nationally licensed sex counselor through the American Association of Sex Educators and Therapists (AASECT).
She specializes in a the evaluation and treatment of a wide variety of sexual concerns for people of all ages, with emphasis in supporting postpartum and middle life women. She was named as a 2015 winner.
