My passion for Naturopathic Medicine emerged from my own personal healing story. I witnessed first-hand the power of holistic, patient-centered medicine, and I bring that passion and understanding to each of my patients. I work closely with them to understand their mind and body, and collaborate on treatment plans that work for their lives. I have a passion for treating hormonal imbalances, mental health, digestive concerns and overall stress.

However, naturopathic medicine gives me the opportunity to treat patients of all ages and any health concerns. I tailor each treatment to the individual person. I strongly believe in the body’s ability to heal itself. My role is to support and encourage the healing process. I involve and educate each patient in their own treatment plan, as to create a lasting effect on their health. I graduated from Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, following my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia Okanagan.

When I’m not in clinic, you can find me in the yoga studio, on the seawall or testing new recipes in my kitchen.

Dr. Overton entrusts an evidence-based approach, providing health care with an emphasis on prevention and natural therapies. In addition to her passion for skin health and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Overton has a general naturopathic medical practice focusing on hormone imbalance, thyroid conditions, digestive issues, weight management, anxiety & depression, nutrition and IV nutrient therapy. Dr. Overton received her undergraduate degree (BA) from the University of Victoria, majoring in counselling and health psychology. She graduated from the CNME accredited institution The Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2015. She spent her first two years in practice at Vancouver’s first intravenous vitamin lounge garnering extensive clinical experience administering IV nutrient therapy.

Having performed thousands of IV treatments, she’s helped countless patients improve their health. She has additionally followed her passion for skin health, receiving advanced facial anatomy and cosmetic skin rejuvenation training with the Canadian Society Of Skin Medicine. Dr. Overton is licensed and board certified by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia and is a member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the British Columbia Naturopathic Association.

Dr. Lucas MacMillan is a naturopathic physician who was trained as both a registered nurse (RN), and as a doctor of naturopathic medicine. He is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), and is the clinic director of the Delbrook Integrative Medical Centre. Dr. MacMillan relies on education and experience from his training in both the conventional and naturopathic realms to offer comprehensive assessments and treatments that are unique, personalized, and effective.

My dream of becoming a doctor started when I was no more than 5 or 6 and I became fascinated with our family GP. He was a larger than life figure who played a prominent role in our lives because with two overworked parents, an ageing grandparent, and 5 children, we were never short on reasons to see him. We showed up with something wrong and he always knew how to fix it or make it better. I loved how much he was able to help us and I wanted to be just like him.

As time passed however, I made choices that took me down a different path and I ended up, decades later, climbing the corporate ladder, my dream of being a doctor forgotten. To the outside observer I had all the trappings of success, but underlying it all was a deep unhappiness. It took a lot of soul-searching to realize that I had lost sight of my passion and as a result, my life lacked purpose. By examining all the things that I cared about and looking at what excited me, it didn’t take long for me to come back to my childhood conclusion that medicine was my true calling.

So I decided that I would do whatever it took to see that dream come true. It took me 6 years to complete my prerequisites and another 4 years to get my doctorate, but in December 2016 I graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine with the added honour of being class valedictorian. Now I have the privilege to help people just like my family doctor did so many years ago. My love of medicine comes from a deep seeded desire to help people become the best version of themselves they can be.

I know first hand how easy it is to lose touch with who we are and become lost in the daily grind. But I can also attest to the joy that comes from reconnecting with your passion and then taking steps to manifest it. So in addition to helping people heal their physical ailments, I know how vital it is to work with them on a mental and emotional level as well. Naturopathic medicine is built on this fundamental principle; as only by treating the whole person can true healing occur.

I look forward to working with a variety of patients, but I have a keen interest in chronic pain, chronic disease, hormonal imbalances, weight loss, and men’s health. Using nutritional and lifestyle counselling, supplementation, botanical medicine, acupuncture, physical manipulation, IV and peri-neural therapy, in conjunction with my prescriptive authority, my goal is to create treatment plans that use the best possible therapies to address each patient’s unique concerns.
