Dr. Marianna Abrams leads a team of outstanding Bastyr graduate naturopathic doctors and acupuncturists at Water’s Edge Natural Health Services. Dr. Abrams oversees the care of every patient, blending her background in naturopathic medicine and Oriental medicine/acupuncture with traditional western-allopathic medicine to offer complete, comprehensive, and effective healing approaches for her patients.

She specializes in health rebuilding and endocrine disorders with emphasis on hormone balancing, weight loss and longevity. In her clinical studies at Bastyr, Dr. Abrams focused on treating endocrine (hormone) pathologies and on diet and weight loss therapy. She also had a fellowship in Oriental Medicine at the Longhua Hospital, Shanghai, and Shanghai University of TCM, China, where she specialized in endocrine challenges such as thyroid disorders, diabetes and menopause.

Dr. Simon takes a common sense approach to musculoskeletal health and focuses on calming pain in the body naturally, while increasing range of motion through a spectrum of techniques to keep people feeling and moving their best. Biofeedback – Dr. Simon has over 400 hours of direct training in biofeedback modalities during his time as a Student, Resident, and Supervising Physician of the Mind Body Medicine and Biofeedback Clinic at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. Determining an individuals stress response is paramount to understanding how it affects their symptoms whether it is pure anxiety, IBS, pain, chronic fatigue, or multitude of other stress symptoms.

Physical Medicine – Utilizing a blend of techniques from spinal adjustments similar to chiropractic or osteopathy to help your body start moving again without pain. Primary philosophy towards exercise, physical therapy and minimizing the need to spinal manipulation care. CKTP – Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner – Utilizing the Original Kinesio Taping Method from the Kinesio Taping association and teaches Kinesio Taping classes to the public, and fitness professionals. My main focus is primary care with a special interest in Men’s Health and Physical Medicine including both joint and soft tissue manipulation, muscle energy stretching, and hydrotherapy. My goal is to integrate all naturopathic modalities, including pharmaceutical when needed, to meet you where you are at with your health needs.

I have always wanted to do something in medicine after growing up with a mom that taught nursing. I am originally from the Detroit area and attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a pre-medicine focus and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then attended Bastyr University where I completed specialty rotations in counseling, diabetes and cardiovascular health, pain management, environmental medicine, adolescent medicine, mind-body medicine/biofeedback, underserved/homeless youth, and Digestive Health/SIBO.

I completed elective courses in Kinesio Taping, STD treatment and prevention, mind-body/biofeedback, advanced diabetes and vascular disease, IV therapy, and a licensing course in massage therapy. I also went to Germany for a 2-week hydrotherapy class. In my last year at Bastyr, I spent over 250 hours outside of class and clinical rotations precepting with specialists in men’s health, physical medicine, chiropractic care, mind-body/biofeedback, emergency medicine at Kirkland’s Evergreen Emergency Department, and STD treatment and prevention at the Harborview/King County STD Clinic.

After graduating with my Naturopathic Doctorate from Bastyr I joined Alpine Integrated Medicine for 2 years of residency. After residency, I spent 1 more year as a staff doctor at Alpine before purchasing Junction Naturopathic Medicine.
