Our clinical staff of licensed medical aestheticians and nurses is led by our full-time, on-site Medical Director, Dr.
Shannon Maltais. It is important to us that we evaluate and offer state of the art technology in aesthetic medicine, and make recommendations based on clinical data, safety, and expectations. Our clinical philosophy of non-invasive aesthetic solutions utilizes a combination of cosmetic laser and light treatments, aesthetic protocols, injectable solutions, and professional grade skin care regimens.
Dr. Maltais’s appreciation for the artistic nature of beauty, her desire and research in natural looking interventions, and detailed attention to each individual patient has served her well in her professional life and is the driving philosophy at Physician Skin Solutions. She believes in investing in state-of-art technology and mastering the latest techniques in cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic laser treatments through extensive training and education.
This enables her to offer her patients the most advanced solutions available creating a pathway to total correction. With over 13 years experience, Dr. Maltais is considered an advanced master injector of neurotoxins and dermal fillers. Her experienced and artistic eye, as well as the personal connection she has with her patients, has built a large, loyal following. Because of this, she has been awarded Allergan’s Black Diamond Status, meaning Dr.
Maltais is in the top 1% of Botox providers in the country. Additionally, she is the number one provider of Juvederm in the state of Arizona. She began her professional journey as a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Microbiology, chemistry, and pre-medical studies. She then proceeded to receive her Medical Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
After returning to her native Arizona, she completed a General Practice Residency at the Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center in Tempe, Arizona. During her post-graduate training, Dr. Maltais received additional focused training in minor surgery and general dermatology. She also served as a clinical instructor in minor surgery and IV therapy. Dr. Maltais has expertise in many modalities including injectable solutions, laser and light therapies, cosmetic aesthetic medicine and anti-aging, minor surgery, and topical skin care.
Dr. Maltais enjoys utilizing laser devices, especially the newest technologies, and other practical procedures such injectables, PDO threads and skin care in combination, as to address all aspects of the aging face. She enjoys being hands on with her patients getting to know their motivations, comfort level and expectations to better serve their aesthetic needs. Dr. Maltais is a Founding Board Member of the Naturopathic Physicians Board of Aesthetic Medicine (NPBAM).
As well as a member of the following medical associations: American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, American Association of Naturopathic Medicine. Personally, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her parents, her twin brother and her two adorable nephews. She and her husband, are avid runners and hikers alongside their beloved Australian Shepards – Katie and Cooper! Her passion for animals and the community she grew up in is evident in the numerous community events and charities that she and PSS support throughout the year.
