While I recognize the value of all medical approaches and the important role that conventional medicine plays in our healthcare system, I believe we too often utilize invasive or suppressive therapies when more gentle treatments would be effective. As a naturopathic doctor, I view symptoms as the body’s attempt to communicate when it is imbalanced and I believe that the body, like the rest of nature, is wise and will heal itself given the right conditions.
My role as an ND is to support you while you do the healing. I listen fully to my patients’ stories and work to identify their obstacles to health and uncover the root cause of their symptoms, and then I use therapies like nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, lifestyle changes, and bodywork to encourage the body to return to a place of balance. My passion is helping people reconnect to Nature and to themselves so that they can reclaim health and vitality, experience more energy and joy, and feel more engaged with their life.
I am Dr. Shannon Curtis, a registered naturopathic doctor (ND) in the state of Colorado. I found naturopathic medicine after years of suffering from chronic conditions that were never relieved with conventional medications. After learning the tools that restored my own health, my life purpose is now to guide others in their own healing journeys. I earned a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
Following graduation, I completed a two-year CNME-certified naturopathic medical residency in primary care at the National University of Natural Medicine. I am also trained in Maya abdominal therapy, pelvic floor therapy, and craniosacral. My passion is working with women who struggle with gynecological conditions, infertility, anxiety/depression, and acne.
