Dr. Kitaeff was the first Western graduate from Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in Osaka, Japan in 1975 and a member of the first graduating class of naturopathic physicians from Bastyr University in 1982. He was founding academic director of the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, one of the first acupuncture colleges in North America and founding president of the Acupuncture Association of Washington. Since 1982, he has been the director of New Health Medical Center, one of the oldest and largest clinics combining all forms of natural medicine. He has published in journals and textbooks of naturopathic and Chinese traditional medicine and lectured internationally on topics of natural medicine.
