Dr. Joshua Hersh NMD, (Naturopathic Medical Doctor), received his Naturopathic Medical Degree from Bastyr University and prior to that his Bachelors of Science from Brigham Young University. During his time at both Universities he was fully engaged in the rigorous advancement of research and furthering scientific knowledge and participated in research in Parkinson’s Disease. At Bastyr University he was a teacher and a leader.

There he excelled becoming a tutor for medical students in Clinical Diagnosis, Immunology, Pathology, Infectious Disease, and Biochemistry. In addition to gross anatomy, cardiology, neurology, herbalogy, geriatrics, grand rounds, minor surgery, environmental medicine, rheumatology, oncology, pharmacology, dermatology, etc, he also studied craniosacral therapy, spirituality, homeopathy, massage and endocrinology.

He has received Post Doctoral training in IV Therapy, Integrative Oncology, Chronic Infections, Lyme Disease, Gastrointestinal Health, Migraines, Mental Health, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Parkinson’s Disease, Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Therapy and more. With a wealth of knowledge, he educates and empowers his patients. He thoroughly researches safe and effective therapies for his patients and his recommendations are based on sound scientific research and clinical experience.

Over 2,000 years ago Hippocrates stated the two primary causes of illness: nutrient deficiencies and exposure to environmental toxins, which is as true today as it was then. But today we are also dealing with a wide range of pathogens. So nutrition plays a very important role in healing as does purification therapies to detoxify the cells of the body of stored toxins. Jake Schmutz, NMD, is a naturopathic medical doctor at Integrative Medica in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Schmutz specializes in combining conventional and alternative medicine for pain management, autoimmune diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic disease. Dr. Schmutz is passionate about helping patients overcome disease and achieve optimum health and well-being. Haskell has been in practice for over 34 years. ‘You have to discover the causes for why a person is unwell. You can’t just treat symptoms or labels. And if you can understand and address these causes then the miraculous capacity of the body to heal will take care of the rest. It is a matter of respecting the innate wisdom of the body and believing in this capacity to heal.’

Haskell incorporates a wide range of lab testing, as well as viewing a tiny drop of the client’s blood under a microscope. All this information is important and then a program is designed to correct imbalances.

He believes there are three primary causes for why a person becomes ill.

The first is nutritional deficiencies. If the cells aren’t fed then their function declines and the person has symptoms.

The second is environmental toxins which we are exposed to every day of our lives. We have to reduce our exposure (in our food, air and water) and then help the body to detox.

The third is chronic silent low-grade infections which most people are unaware of. This can be bacterial, viral and mold. This has to be investigated and then through the use of various therapies, reduce their population.
