The purpose of our clinic is to help as many people as we possibly can regain their health by addressing the true causes of disease, not just the symptoms, and to help them maintain their health, who then in turn, educate others on the benefits of Wellness Care.

Dr. Blake was born in New York City and grew up in the Midwest. He received a degree in Cultural Anthropology and completed his preparatory medical curriculum at the University of Cincinnati in 1994. His studies focused on cross-cultural medical practices while completing a preparatory medical education. He then worked as an herbalist in a small natural foods store and corner natural medicine apothecary in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In anticipation of naturopathic medical school he moved to New York City and worked alongside a well-respected acupuncturist in mid-town Manhattan. Dr. Blake went on to graduate from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. National College is the oldest college of naturopathic medicine in North America, celebrating 50 years in 2006. There he completed a Masters in Science of Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine.

He pursued special studies in physiotherapy for infectious and degenerative diseases, Constitutional Hydrotherapy, history of natural medicine and German irisdiagnosis. Before graduating he was already teaching and lecturing in the required courses. After graduation he completed a residency at one of the busiest and longest continually operating naturopathic clinics in North America. Dr. Blake is co-editor and contributing author of the professional textbook Naturopathic Physical Medicine (2008).

He has authored chapters for other professional textbooks as well – Chronic Pelvic Pain and Dysfunction (2011) and Fibromyalgia: A practitioners guide to care (2010). He has authored a teaching workbook on physiotherapy for physicians and is the history editor of the Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine project. He is also currently adjunct faculty at National College of Natural Medicine. Dr. Blake combines his extensive knowledge of therapeutic techniques learned through his unique study of the history of naturopathic medicine with the outstanding training of a modern naturopathic college and his apprenticeship at the side of masters of the art.

Dr. Russell B. Marz, received his B. S. in Food & Nutrition in 1979 from BSU in New York. In 1983 he earned his doctorate at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR. Dr. Marz is a licensed acupuncturist and earned a masters degree in Chinese Medicine and acupuncture in 1994. Dr. Marz has taught both basic science and clinical nutrition since 1988 as a professor of nutrition at NCNM, Western States Chiropractic College, SW College of Naturopathic Medicine and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.

He published his first book in 1992, Medical Nutrition from Marz and the 2nd edition in 1997. He is currently the medical director at the Tabor Hill Clinic in Portland, Oregon. In 2015 he was inducted into the NUNM naturopathic hall of fame. Dr. David Chang is a board-licensed Naturopathic physician and acupuncturist. My practice philosophy revolves around the knowledge that the simplest therapies generally work the best, but if more aggressive methods, such as prescription drugs are required, I utilize those as well. I always try to use the gentlest effective means to accomplish the goal. My job is about discovery—finding the underlying cause of a patient’s problems and giving them the proper counsel and the proper tools to heal it at the cellular level.

Much of my life has been devoted to studying biological sciences and medicine, and I am passionate about this work. I graduated from Washington State University with a BS degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology, after receiving an AA degree in Business Administration. I have a strong background in both business and hard science. I’ve donated thousands of volunteer hours teaching and counseling in various capacities, including in my church, and as a lay counselor for battered women and victims of sexual assault.

My doctoral (ND) degree is from National College of Natural Medicine, a fully accredited, four-year post-graduate medical program where I was trained to practice general medicine. My training also included extensive work in counseling, nutritional, botanical, homeopathic, and physical medicine, and I am licensed in Oregon as a primary care physician. My husband and I have three children and one precious grandchild.
