I have a vision of mental health care that goes beyond brain-based symptomatic treatments. My approach honours the connection between mind and body, and treats the person as a whole. This model integrates medicine, psychology, and compassion to address the root causes of mental suffering, both in the individual and the community. It’s a privilege to offer this approach to my patients. My goal is to ease the symptoms that bring you in to see me, then to find their cause, and restore balance to the system.
Using strategic tests, I investigate physiological conditions that may underlie mental health issues, and then employ targeted treatments using lifestyle improvement, diet, movement, acupuncture, and appropriate supplementation. All this I combine with compassion-focused counseling and meditation techniques to empower my patients with the effective tools of self-regulation and ultimately, self-acceptance.
I like to collaborate with my patients’ therapists, medical doctors, and/or psychiatrists to build a unified team for your wellness. I look forward to answering your questions about medication, adverse effects, long-term treatment effects, alternatives to pharmaceuticals, adjunctive care, and, more simply, how to take care of yourself. My approach tailors individualized treatment plans for each patient to help you address immediate symptoms, investigate root causes, and heal yourself from within.
