Dr. Preeti Kulkarni is a Naturopathic Doctor and has been practicing in the Bay Area since 2007. She is the founding director of Core Integrative Health. It was her passion for helping people through a distinct integrative approach that inspired her to establish this practice. Dr. Kulkarni designs treatment protocols based on current scientific research and individualizes them according to a patients’ unique needs.
She believes in treating the whole patient, not the disease. A success story of one of her patients highlights the benefits of the individualized approach and has gained considerable media/social media attention. This patient wrote a book about his weight loss story titled ‘Walking with Peety’ and it exemplifies Dr. Kulkarni’s holistic approach. Prior to establishing Core Integrative Health, Dr. Kulkarni was the Director of Functional Medicine at a multidisciplinary clinic with a medical doctor, physical therapists, chiropractors and nutritionists.
Before that, she was the Lead Practitioner at Pharmaca (an integrative pharmacy). Her time at Pharmaca helped her gain a deep understanding of the supplements industry. Herb-drug interactions is one of Dr. Kulkarni’s expertise that helps her with effective patient care – especially patients with chronic conditions and on multiple medications. Dr. Kulkarni is passionate about health education. She has had seminars at several silicon valley companies such as Symantec, Northrop Grumman, Brocade and others on topics ranging from diabetes prevention to effects of stress and fatigue and sleep disorders.
Dr. Kulkarni completed her medical training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and has a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Biology and Anthropology from the University of Toronto,Canada. She was an intern at Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, and Sherbourne Community Health Center. Besides, naturopathic medicine, her special interests include medical anthropology, with focus on evolutionary medicine and traditional systems of medicine.
She has lived in 4 different countries and has a keen interest in ethnic foods and their influence on health. In her spare time, she enjoys doing art work with her children, reading books and trying out new recipes. Dr. Kulkarni is an active member of California Naturopathic Doctors Association and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
