Dr. Coats was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is a third generation Valley native. She enjoys spreading the word about naturopathic medicine, spending time with her family and in her spare time riding her horses. Dr. Melissa Coats graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia, with a Bachelors degree in biology; she then went on to achieve her Masters in bioethics from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.
Subsequently, Dr. Coats earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona. Additionally Dr. Coats has gone on to become board certified in naturopathic oncology (FABNO). Currently she is the past President of the SCNM Alumni Association and current Board Development Chair of Tempe Boys and Girls Club. She is a member of the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association, American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic PhysiciansDr.
Coats offers general naturopathic medical care with a focus in oncology, autoimmune conditions, mental wellness and more.
